Tip Five: Freebies

We all want to be able to make a little cash off our work, but when you first start out you can't expect to sell much without proper promotion. The easiest way to get your name out is to start off by giving away cd's with some of your songs on them, or other merchandise with your band's logo on them. Local record shops are perfect for this since they will get more business from people interested in your music and it will set the stage for a possible place to sell your albums later on.
